After four long years....

Four years ago,  I was a "Girl Next Door" (In real sense), but then something happened and the table turned the other way round and I became what I am today, a confident lady who can handle the worldly challenges easily!!!

Today I am feeling that I must thanks all those who all are behind this, to all those who taught me how to be what I am today!!

First of all, I would like to thanks Uniqs. Guys we rock!!! Those two years I spent with you guys were the best!!!

Secondly, all the roomies I'd ever had!!!!
Devi!!!! Love you soooooo much gal!!!! You made that one year at hostel really comfortable for me!!!!! :-*
Shikhchiks!!!! you were the li'l sis I always wanted to look after....Thank you so much!!!! Mwahs!!!

In those two years I made some life long friends, on whom I can always rely. They gave me correct advice when I needed them the most! Some of them helped me out with my almost all crazy ideas.
Thanks Ankita and Piyush,  for being there with me, I don't how I would have spent those boring Sundays and so-called Holidays without you guys!!!
And a really biiiig thanks to Harshit, you survived the Gujju Literature lover in me ;) otherwise I would have bwcome a techie who'd always hated their Mother Tongue!!!

In Pune I learned how to deal with Sarkari Babus... And they all deserve a real thank for that, so does the one who taught the li'l twenty something Girl, "How to be Professional yet become Great buddies".

Yupp.... I am quite emotional after two years of coming back to home, but today when I look back to the Journey, I find that those two years made me a wise and confident lady from sweet immature girl. And you all deserve a biiiiig thanks and a very warm hug!!

Thanks guys for coming in my life and never going out of it!!!!

Love you all and miss 707 too!!!!!

On birth of my most beloved "baby"

Few months back, I and my Husband had gone for a dinner, and from our usual discussion on various topics, our talk went to the food that night. While criticizing that we came to a point where we thought I can be a good food reviewer and thus we conceived an Idea, to start our own food reviewing website. A site where anyone can add review of the restaurant they like or dislike. We have to take care of this idea just like an unborn child.

As everyone knows, a child does not enter this world without mother going through labour pains. Same way we faced many problems attached with birth of this website. To start with, we could not finalized the “look” of the website, when we finalized the development took a lort of time. Ultimately just like a human baby, the website took whole 9 months to get ready and meet the world and face its part of challenges.
So, our most beloved baby, Daawat-e-khaas has come to this world, with its first official look. Though I guess I have to feed it very well to make it a healthy “cerelac” baby, I’m feeling extremely happy for its birth

And for you all, please check http://www.daawat-e-khaas.com.

Ghazal v/s Modern Music

While having bath, I heard the following talk on Radio Mirchi,Ahmedabad:

"Parth, Do you know Mehndi Hasan?"
"No Dhvanit, Who's he? Has he made one more rap of 'Kolaveri Di'?"
Dhvanit: "Ohho!! This generation!! Does not know anything, anyone beyond their choice. These guys don't know who Mehndi Hasan is, and tells us that we should listen to 'Kolaveri Di'!!!"

Well, now let me clear up some facts, here Dhvanit-the main RJ-is not much older, not more than 30 while Parth-his Junior- is in his early 20s.

But when Dhvanit blames "Today's Generation", it hurts-to GenX, to the Youngsters, to Me. Just for one reason, when we tells this so called older generation to try the music of our generation they tell us that 'IT'S NOT MUSIC' or 'U MUST CHANGE YOUR TASTE', but when it's about their music, every young and old INDIAN must know it, must like it.

No doubt Mehndi Hasan is a great Ghazal singer, but there are fair chances that people don't consider to listen a Ghazal in their early 20s or consider it as a very serious type of music.

And when we are talking about Ghazal and Raps, how many of those who are 'opposing' the modern music really have heard it?

Another example he gave was of "show off" of our generation. As per him anyone in their 20s asking for a pass of Saptak(An annual classical music festival taken place in Ahmedabad) want to be a 'celeb' in their group. Dear Dhvanit, can't that 20 something guy be a classical music fan? Can't he has knowledge of classical music? Can't he be learning classical since long?

It's the same like you just bitch about Younger Generation because they have something better to contribute to society. But then they forget that even their elders had bitched about them and they telling elder generation to 'understand' them.

It's like 'Maru etlu saru ne taru etlu kharab?'(Whatever is mine is the best and whatever is yours is worst?')

Just one question to Dhvanit, would not he take a verbal fight with Amit Sayani, if Amitji would tell him to change the way Dhavnit compare the show?
